Darrell's Comments

This was my first project, recorded on a shoestring of a budget during the summer of ‘92. I was very green in the studio at that time, so this became an invaluable learning process for me.

The song "Reach Out" was written for an old high school friend of mine for whom I had a tremendous burden for his salvation. It became an answered prayer in early 1997 when he finally gave his heart to the Lord. "One More Day" has been a personal favorite of mine, so much so that we remade it on the NEW WORLD COMING project. The theme is simple; that even though we eagerly anticipate the rewards of heaven, that God would grant us just a little more time to reach all that will believe. The new version has become a concert favorite of audiences everywhere. "Daddy’s Little Girl" has a fairly obvious theme, released a full four years before Bob Carlisle’s "Butterfly Kisses" took the same theme to the masses. This song also went through the remake process, showing up again on 1995's BIG TIME.

Overall this project, while simple on production, was, I felt, a good first effort at trying to get my music and heart across to the masses, a sharing of personal convictions. No longer in print many of the themes expressed would go on to show up in later recordings.
