Darrell's Comments

NEW WORLD COMING marked a great change in how I approached making records. Mark Dowdy served as producer on the album (playing every instrument known to man), the album was recorded in eight, fast-paced days (as opposed to 6-8 months), and for the first time, I recorded three songs I did not write.

This project is probably the hardest to have to pick favorites from. The title track kicks in with an unprecedented amount of "oomph" (for me at least!) as it vivaciously paints a picture of our current situation as Christians, trying to live in a world that is not our real home, while joyously proclaiming the promise of the "new world" that awaits those who believe in Him. "Higher" is a cover of one of Mark Dowdy’s songs. "All The Heaven I Need" is a great "power ballad" that speaks of Christ as our sufficiency and strength. "Innocent Eyes" is a wonderful parent’s prayer that I wrote for my second daughter Kayla. Also included is a remake of the Tim Sheppard classic "I Am Determined" and a rousing, Maranatha! style version of "All Hail The Power Of Jesus Name". One of my personal faves is "Faith In You", a song that uses detailed word imagery to paint a picture of our darkest moments, then kicks into a simple chorus bringing a simple answer "When all the wonder is gone from my eyes / I will put my faith in You / When trials come and I don’t know why / I will put my faith in You / When my world is falling apart / When I feel the raging in my heart / I will put my faith in You". Gotta love it!

NEW WORLD COMING released in May of 1997 and has rapidly become my fastest selling project, reaching across all age groups as well as musical tastes. To God Be The Glory! Great things He has done!
